Acorn PR

We founded Acorn PR in 2018 after years of helping some of New Zealand’s most recognised public figures, government organisations, industry groups and not-for-profits communicate effectively.

Acorn PR is about making communications and stakeholder relations advice and support accessible, affordable and highly practical. If you’re after people who are prepared to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, you’ve come to the right place.

Rachael Cox

Rachael has held a number of roles on both sides of the media, including as a political journalist and ministerial press secretary.

Over the past few years she has worked with a number of organisations including Te Papa, Ministry for the Environment, Positively Wellington Tourism, Ministry of Health, Ministry for Pacific Peoples, the Commerce Commission, the Climate Leaders Coalition and the Christchurch Youth Hub.

She has also been a matchmaker for the Community Comms Collective, which matches communications volunteers with not-for-profits.

Hayden Cox

Hayden is a former political adviser and press secretary who spent nearly a decade working for several government ministers across a range of portfolios.

Over the past few years he has worked in a variety of communications and stakeholder engagement roles in and around government, including for the Road Transport Forum, the Game Animal Council, and the Network of Youth One Stop Shops.

How we work

We let our work speak for itself. We operate behind the scenes to raise the profile of our clients, not ourselves.

Accessible

Highly practical
